Tinnitus Relaxation techniques
can assist you with sleep problems in order to get a great night's sleep and I've listed several excellent relaxation techniques below including:
- Progressive Relaxation
-Toe Tensing for your feet
-Deep Breathing Techniques
-Guided Imagery Techniques
-The Quiet Ears Technique
Progressive Relaxation Technique
This technique is more successful when you use the instructions and you can record these instructions and then read them slowly.
-Start by laying down on your back and then closing your eyes.
-Then feel your feet and sense their weight whilst you consciously relax your feet and let them drop on the bed. Begin with your toes and move to your ankles.
-Feel your knees and sense their weight whilst you relax them.
-Feel you upper legs and thighs and relax them as you sink into the bed.
-Feel your abdomen, chest and breathing and relax then deepen your breathing so you can feel your abdomen letting loose.
-Feel your buttocks and their weight whilst you relax them and let them sink into your bed.
-Feel your hands and their weight whilst you relax them totally.
-Feel your upper arms and their weight relaxing them gently.
-Feel your shoulders and their weight relaxing them gently.
-Feel your neck, roll it around and let it loose.
-Feel your mouth and relax it completely. make sure your jaw muscles are unclenched.
-Feel your eyes and let them relax especially your eyelids. You will feel the tension slide off the eyes.
-Feel your face and cheekbones and relax them.
-Finally scan your whole body and if you can find a place that is still tense let it relax and sink into your bed.
Toe Tensing - Try alternately tensing and relaxing your toes in order to draw tension from the rest of the body.
-Lie on your back and close your eyes slowly.
-Then sense your toes.
-Now try and pull all your 10 toes back towards your face and slowly count to 10.
-Now gently relax your toes. All 10 of them.
-Count to 10 slowly again.
-Now repeat the above circle 10 times once or several times if you need it
Deep Breathing
When you focus on breathing and deep breathing you allow the rest of your body to relax and this is an excellent method to relax your body so you can get "all your pieces" into synchronicity.
This type of relaxation breathing is the cornerstone of the movements in relaxation methods such as qui gong , jui jitsui, yoga and many martial arts for this very reason.
On with the Deep Breathing Technique............
-Lie on your back.
-Slowly relax your body. You can use the progressive relaxation technique we described above.
-Begin to inhale slowly through your nose if possible. Fill the lower part of your chest first, then the middle and top part of your chest and lungs. Be sure to do this slowly, over 8-10 seconds.
-Hold your breath for a second or two.
-Then quietly and easily relax and let the air out.
-Wait a few seconds and repeat this cycle.
- If you find yourself getting dizzy, then you are overdoing it. Slow down.
-You can also imagine yourself in a peaceful situation such as on a warm, gentle ocean. Imagine that you rise on the gentle swells of the water as you inhale and sink down into the waves as you exhale.
-You can continue this breathing technique for as long as you like until you fall asleep.
Image Guidance
With this technique your goal is to visualize yourself in a very peaceful setting.
-Start by laying on your back with your eyes closed.
-Then imagine yourself in a favorite and very peaceful place like a sunny beach with the ocean breezes caressing you or swinging in a hammock in the mountains.
-Feel that you are there and imagine your surroundings whilst hearing the peaceful sounds and flowers or the barbecue, fell the warmth of the sun and any other sensations that you find. Relax and enjoy it.
-You can return to this place any night you need to. As you use this place more and more you will find it easier to fall asleep as this imagery becomes a sleep conditioner.
-Some patients find it useful to visualize something boring. This may be a particularly boring teacher or lecturer, co-worker or friend
Quiet Ears
-Lie on your back with your eyes closed.
-Place your hands behind your head. Make sure they are relaxed.
-Place your thumbs in your ears so that you close the ear canal.
-You will hear a high-pitched rushing sound. This is normal.
-Listen to this sound for 10-15 minutes.
-Then put your arms at your sides, actively relax them and go to sleep.
Paul Tobey's powerful tinnitus healing methods.
This is my number one recommendation for healing tinnitus. It's very similar to how I personally have found ways to deal with my extreme tinnitus but Paul has gone one steps further and put it into a package you can use right now to help you.Paul's two tinnitus relief programs for example will absolutely change forever the way you deal with your Tinnitus. Remember I know about treatments as I've been researching them for almost 14 years since I got the extremely loud ringing in my ears in an explosion in Asia and his eBook and audio seminar have done wonders giving me relief and healing just over the last few months.
His original healing product is called "A Practical Guide to Tinnitus Free Living". This is an eBook and audio recording in which he shares some practical and truly enlightening information on how to live a 100% Tinnitus-Free Life.
I highly recommend his easy to use methods. Paul is a Canadian concert pianist, composer, entertainer, motivational speaker and former tinnitus sufferer himself.
I was almost in tears of joy when I finished reading his book the 1st time because I just wished I had this information so many years, anxious days and sleepless nights ago.
I spoke for a few hours with Paul on Skype in early March 2008 to understand more about his methods and he really does have a great system with some very easy to use ways to get rid of your tinnitus or at least make it A LOT easier to deal with. He's an extremely inspirational and personable guy.
One thing that really stuck out in my conversation with Paul was his philosophy of focusing on what you want spiritually, mentally and emotionally and how the physical changes will follow. This is a guy who's just walked over 800 kilometres on a trek through Spain over 60 days. Paul filmed about 60 hours of footage along the Camino de Santiago for one of his documentary projects. This was a journey of personal development for Paul and when you read his eBook you will see the sheer simplicity and beauty of Paul's methods of dealing with Tinnitus.
His most recent product is a 90 Minute Äudio Seminar that I feel may just contain the most powerful tinnitus information ever assembled.
You can download it today and start healing immediately.
This seminar was recorded on March 14th 2008, when Paul Tobey appeared as guest speaker at the Canadian Hearing Society's London Tinnitus Treatment Support Group. Click here to find out more.
